Requirements and Commitment

Convocation

      As an elected member of Convocation to the position of Warden, Deputy Warden and Council you will be required to attend the
      Convocation Council Meetings which are held on the evening of the first Wednesday of every month (excluding January).
 
       Statute 9, Clause 11(5) states that:
       “A member of the Council who fails to attend three consecutive ordinary meetings of the Council without having obtained leave of the
      Council to be absent is deemed to have resigned from the Council at the conclusion of the third of such meetings.”
 
      At present the Council of Convocation has five subcommittees:

• Awards Committee
• Centenary Planning Working Group
• Development and Policy Committee
• Graduate Outreach Committee
• Statutes Committee

      Elected members are also highly encouraged to attend the First and Second Ordinary Meetings of Convocation, which are held in March
      and September each year.

      There are also other events in the Convocation Calendar, which members are invited to attend. They include the Postgraduate Awards
      Ceremony and the Reunion of the Graduates who Graduated 50 years earlier.

Senate 

      Convocation-elected Senators are required to attend Senate Meetings and abide by the Code of Conduct approved by the Senate:

      Convocation-elected Senators are also invited to attend all Convocation events and meetings.
